September Birthday's

September was a busy month for Birthday's. Quinn celebrated his 15th B-day on Sept 9. His choice was to stay home, have hamburgers on the grill, and play some volleyball in the back yard. Dillon turned 12 on Sept 26. He decided we should go out to eat Friday night and then Saturday we went bowling for both their birthday's. Dillon invited Chris and Quinn decided he was fine with no one. Could it be an age thing??? Both of them picked Oreo Bizzard cake from Dairy Queen, so we got it twice, once at the beginning of the month and then again at the end.

New Concrete

We FINALLY got the extension done on the driveway. Devin was PRETTY dissapointed as that area was his digging place. I am excited as that means no more mud!! It got pretty muddy in the winter from the snow and during some of the rains we got. And for some reason little boys are attracted to that....It will also extend the basketball playing area, oh yeah, the main reason...more parking.
Here is where Devin was digging. On his way to China. He didn't make it as the bulldozer came and leveled everything out.

Damen's Flag Football

Damen and Sydni waiting their turn to go in. Not sure why Damen just can't take a picture without making a goofy face!

Damen is playing flag football this year. Damen's team consists of 1st and 2nd graders, with three from his class in school. Sydni, his good friend that lives across the street is the only girl and her dad is the coach. He is an AWESOME coach, as you can see from the video he has a play sheet and the kids TRY to run that play! He also makes sure that each kid get to be center, quarterback, and a receiver at some point in the game. It is so funny to watch those little guys out there. This clip shows Damen, in the black shorts/cream shirt, running the ball in for a near touch down, with grandpa cheering him on in the background. He ended up about a foot short but was proud none the less. For those unsure how to play the video...just click on the play button at the bottom left corner of the picture.

Hunting and Fishing Expo
Yesterday we took the boys to the Convention Center to participate in the Hunting and Fishing Expo. There was soooo much to do and not enough time. Dillon and Quinn decided that they would try out the canoe. They hit the island a couple of times but made it around with the help of Devin yelling directions from the bank. Devin sure did give good directions but wasn't about to try it on his own.
The next stop was the bow and arrow range. All of the boys tried it out. Damen is pictured below with a little help from an ass't. On Devin's last shot he did hit the bear in the hand. He was pretty proud, not a kill but a wound!

Devin, Dillon, and Quinn all tried out the pellet gun range. The man really took his time with Devin, worked with him until he was able to hit a bulls-eye. Dillon and Quinn did an excellent job and were right on target!
Dillon and his new pet that he thinks he needs to have....a hog-nose snake. Would the snake live with Squirtle the Turtle? Too bad, we will have to just stick with the turtle. I could not believe that Dillon let that thing crawl all over him! Even Damen got his face right in there.
Quinn loading up his Bow. He was the only one to pop a balloon. Good shooting Quinn!!
One picture that I did not get was of Damen using a crossbow. This was not a real one, just one that shot velcro darts. You had to get the dart to stick on the black dot on the deer, 2 out of 3 shots. Dillon went first and got his 2 out of 3, winning a camo cap! Devin and Quinn didn't have such good luck, they did get the darts to stick to the curtain behind the deer though. Damen was last and having a hard time aiming so Boo covered his left eye for him and wouldn't you know.... 2 out of 3....winning a camo cap also. He held his head pretty high after that!!
