Trip to Powell

An update for those that were unable to make it to Powell for the funeral. Kyle flew in from Scotland on Tuesday night, Sally, Bob, Quinn, and Courtney picked him up and Shelley and the kids arrived Tuesday day in Powell. Me, Boo, Dillon, Devin, and Damen left Thursday morning. The funeral for Tyler was Friday morning. The pastor did an excellent job at the service. He made several quotes from Job, which really fit perfectly. Much support for Kyle and the family. Many visitors came out to the house and spent quality time. Even due to those hard circumstances we had a fun time. The kids played hard and were constantly on the go. Kyle, Shelly and their 4 kids, Cole-17, Shane-14, Paytin-13, Kami-8 along with all of our clan Quinn-14, Courtney-12, Dillon-11, Devin-8, and Damen-6 made for much entertainment. Kyle and Shelly had their granddaughter (Tyler's daughter) Katelyn-2 1/2 spend some time out at the house as well.

Quinn, Courtney, and Dillon decided to stay up in Powell until next Saturday. Grandma Sally and Grandpa Bob have some "jobs" that need to get done and the kids thought they could be of some help. Maybe that offer of $$$ had an impact on their decision.... Pull weeds, mow lawn, stain the deck, help out at the Eagles Booth at the Park County Fair.... Good for them! We will pick them up and then go camping and fishing up in the Beartooth Mountain's.
Below you will see some snap shots that I captured while we were in Powell.

Slip n Slide Fun

Kyle bought a Surf Slip n' Slide for the kids. The older kids were having a hard time getting the board to glide nicely across the top, however, the little ones had an easier time. Must be a weight issue. Needless to say, the big ones gave up so the little guys had it all to themselves. They sure did not mind!
Devin showing Quinn and Shane how to work the board! Kami helping Katelyn (Tyler's daughter) surf!
Quinn giving it a try. The board stuck right in one spot when he jumped on it!
Devin relaxing.

All Dressed Up

Some nice lookin' kids! Had to catch a moment before leaving for the funeral. I knew that once we got back home the nice outfits would be changed for swimsuits and soccer shorts. Dillon-11, Courtney-12, Quinn-14, Devin-8, and Damen-6.

North Platte River

Today the boys and I decided to go to the river for a bike ride. Casper has an awesome bike/walk path that follows along the North Platte River from the East side to the West side, about 17 miles one way. We took a short route...making our turn around point a place they could play on the bank of the river. It was about 96 degrees out so we did not stay long, as we still had to ride back to the car.

Break-time!!...obviously we have not ridden far enough as they still have energy to act goofy!
Time to keep going!

Damen taking a moment for himself...

Softball 4 days a week

Tuesday/Thursday nights are Devin's (8yrs) coach pitch nights.

We spend 4 nights a week at the softball fields.

Mondays/Wednesdays are Damen's (6yrs)T-Ball nights.

This is the last year Damen can do T-Ball and the same for Devin. Damen and his best bud Turner are on the same team as Turner's dad is the coach. I believe Damen and Turner visit more than they play! I think we spend more time reminding them they really SHOULD pay attention during the game. I guess that is where the fun is. Memories....

Red Rocks

Took the boys up to Red Rocks out side of Denver for a little hike. What a beautiful place. They had a blast going into little caverns in the rocks.
