Devin and Grandpa Kim sewing

Here's the story: Grandpa borrowed a sewing maching from one of the ladies at work so he could fix a couple holes in his jeans. Light bulb didn't work - he had to use a flashlight :) Kinda old but it sure did the trick. As he was finishing up Devin came out and saw it so of course he had to get the scoop and try it out.
Here is Devin making his first sewing attempt. Havin fun!

While Devin was sitting here practicing some hand stitching he noticed a little lightbulb. His curious mind asked what it was for...Grandpa said for the sewing machine but it was burnt out. Devin examined it and and discussed the filaments and other parts inside. They decided they should put it back in the machine so it didn't break. As soon as Grandpa got it screwed back in it turned on!! We all got the giggles and wondered when Devin got his magical powers??

Damen's Lego

Damen REALLY REALLY wanted to buy the Star Wars Lego AT-AT but it was $120. I had to put the kabosh on that one! I told him it was just too much money to spend on a lego. He did some searching for the next step down, the AT-ST. Walmart had it for $80 (still too expensive in my opinion). With much internet searching he found it for $50 at lego.com (yes, HE found it). I gave in and let him use some of his Christmas money to order it. We had the big count down of delivery days until it would arrive. UPS got it here one day earlier than expected and you would have thought we were having Christmas all over again!

He started working on it right away. Unfortunately it was a school day so we had to convince him that it would still be there in the morning as it was time for bed. A STRUGGLE. He ended up getting up about 5 a.m. Friday morning and falling back asleep on the couch with the lego right on the coffee table in front of him. He got ready quickly so he could get some building in before we had to leave for school. As soon as we got home after school he started to build. He built until 10:30 p.m.!!! and then woke up Sat morning at 7:09 (because I told him he had to look at his clock and it MUST say 7 before he could get out of bed) and started building again. He did 95% of the building himself which is incredible as the box said for 14+, it probably should be 30+ because grandpa and I had struggles ourselves trying to help! and 1066 pieces.

The finished product
I think this will be one lego that will have to stay on top of the dresser??
