Welcome Signs

Had to get some pictures as we went through some states.

The kids did so well in the car! The entire trip, not including all the side trips, was 21 hours in the car. We had movies going, game boy's, Nintendo DS games, crossword puzzles, soduko, it kept them all entertained.

We took the trolley around the NASA grounds to go to the training facility. Was pretty interesting to see all the items they use for training ~ life size shuttle, the ARM, space suits, etc.

Cadillac Ranch

On our way through Texas we stopped outside of Amarillo at the Cadillac Ranch. The kids had fun spray painting the cars and it was a perfect chance to get out of our car for a stretch.

Dillon KEY Camp

Dillon got the privilege of being accepted to go to KEY (knowledge enrichment for youth) Camp again this summer. He spent a week at the college campus here in Casper attending classes and getting to stay in the dorms. There were over 120 6th/7th graders that were there. The cost was $575 and because I am PTA the County PTA paid for $500 and the Bar Nunn PTA paid $75 so he was able to go for free. The classes that he took were: How things Fly (built a kite out of tissue paper and straws), Google Sketch-up (learning how to create 3D object using a computer, he made a virtual house, and different characters), Mask Making ( he got to make an actual mask of his face ), and Book Making (constructed many different types of books, folded books, etc). Dillon said that he enjoyed it once again this year. AND he didn't call home at all :(
